“If I didn’t define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people’s fantasies for me and eaten alive.”-Audre Lorde
Hi! I’m Megan, and I’m an HBCU consultant, project manager and academic storyteller. Through my freelance consulting, project management, coaching, writing, and researching services, I promote the history and contribution of HBCUs, addressing gaps and issues in the existing discourse surrounding their relevance throughout the broader higher education landscape. I specialize in contributing to the research and programmatic efforts of predominantly white organizations and institutions to assist them in ensuring that they are approaching their work with HBCUs, students, and faculty in ways that are equitable, and represent accurate narratives of HBCUs and their contributions to the higher education landscape.
As an academic storyteller, I also work directly with Black businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs and educators to transform their ideas and passions into accessible publication and research sources. I specialize in addressing the writing, editing, researching and publication needs in the field of higher education, with an emphasis on working with HBCUs and HBCU administrators to develop quality, innovative culturally relevant research and academic writing tailored for the academic community and the students and communities their unique missions are committed to serving.
